Additional modifications to the jointer design

Additional modifications to the jointer design

A few changes to the jointer design were needed because the cutter head used had different dimensions from those used in small planers. In addition to that, Ryszard made a few other changes to his jointer.

Using a sprung door hinge for the guard

Using a type of double hinge with internal springs, which allows an attached door to swing in both directions, but the springs hold it closed and centered.

Outfeed roller

The outfeed table extends the effective length of the table. Useful for long stock (as long as it's not too heavy)
The outfeed roller swings out of the way when not in use.

Low profile fence

A low profile fence allows for a better grip on small workpieces on the jointer.
